Ten Iranian engineers were abducted in Afghanistan

Kabul: Twelve Iranian engineers and five of their Afghan colleagues were abducted by armed men Taliban Monday in a region remote from the Afghanistan near its border with the Iran, local officials and the Iranian Government said.

Men working on a road construction project, were snatched at the gun, in the province of Farah Post-i road district, which borders the Iran, the spokesman for the provincial government Naqibullah Farahi told AFP.

Tehran confirmed the kidnapping of 12 Iranians, while the Afghan provincial authorities had said earlier that the number was 10.

"We are closely following the issue," said Ramin Mehmanparast, Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman, quoted by the State of the Web site of the Iran diffuser.

�Remove reference ZAB, � legal objection asks SC

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry noted during the hearing of the reference to Bhutto case that it was for the reopening of cases of murder ZAB, but the presidential reference had not formulated any legal questionGeo News announced Monday evening.

CJ has asked the Federal Government to eliminate errors of law, the draft of the presidential reference case, urging that the legal objections should be removed prior to the formation of a bench of expansion of the Court to hold hearing.

The SC said that the reference should be rewritten in accordance with section 186 of the constitution.

A bench of three members, chaired by the Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry heard the case today.

At the hearing, Chief Judge interviewed the opportunity to examine the case through the reference already filed. He said legal objections must be processed before forming a larger bench to hear the case.

The Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry noted that, in the past, all references filed had a clear cut issue, but it is unfortunate that this was not the case with this reference.

The Chief Justice also said that he did not know what would be the outcome of the case, but it would raise important questions at the hearing.

Later, the hearing was adjourned till April 21.

Article 186 of the constitution authorizes the President to designate any legal question of the Supreme Court for its opinion, obliging the responding apex court.

Thursday, the Chief Justice said that the President not formulated a question of law in its reference to the Supreme Court. He said that there were three decisions of the separate Court against former Prime Minister and President Zardari did not specify that you would like to have reviewed.

KARACHI: The price of the shares on the stock exchange Karachi (dry) ended lower Monday in low turnover as investors remained on the sidelines, dealers said.

The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) reference 100-share index fell to 0.08% or 9,40 points, to end the 11,674.83.

Volume fell to 36,32 million shares, compared with 56 8million in the stock market Friday.
